| Prancing Carousel 2009 |
| This project was a public art exhibition for the S.M.I.L.E.S (Special Methods In Learning Equine Skills) organization. Local Artists were chosen to design a fiberglass form of a full size carousel horse. I covered my form in 3/8" thick pieces of exotic and domestic hardwoods. Some of the woods I used were: Purple Heart, Yellow Heart, Bloodwood, Marblewood, Wenge, Mahogany, Black Walnut, Oak and Maple. My bust guess on time is around 350 hours and 8 thousand pieces of wood. This was a juried show and my horse "Knock On Wood" was awarded Grand Champion. |
